deja vu
Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 02:37PM as i removed this sweater from the blocking board to sew the buttons on i thought of my first Audrey in Unst from one year ago. though they are the same pattern, the differences in the yarn give each sweater a very different feel. this is Tosh sport. compared to Quince and Co. Chickadee, which i still like very much, it has a little more weight to it. the variegation in colorway gives the sweater more depth. i liked knitting a familiar pattern with a different yarn because it allowed me to assess the yarn without worrying about the pattern. sometimes the details of the pattern are overwhelming while knitting and the texture and workability of the yarn go unnoticed.
my madelintosh experiments continue. so far it is two thumbs up for tosh sport and tosh sock. although tosh vintage is beautiful, i will probably think of other worsted weights first.
